Dr. Valente Alvarez, Director of the Food Industries Center.
Jayne Sholl, Program Coordinator, coordinates all activities related to the Food Industries Center (FIC), including accounts, marketing plans, and short course development. She is responsible for contacts with industry, organizations, government agencies, faculty, staff, and students. Jayne earned her degree in International Relations at The Ohio State University, other business and teaching certificates from Capital University, State of Ohio Department of Education and International TEFL Corp.
Gary Wenneker, Pilot Plant Supervisor, is responsible for coordinating work in the food pilot plant in regards to teaching, research, and processing activities. Additional duties include equipment maintenance, and building and laboratory safety coordinator. Gary has 25 years in the food industry with 15 years as manager of the FIC Pilot Plants. Gary received his B.A. from the Ohio State University.
Paul Courtright, Pilot Plant Supervisor, is responsible for coordinating work in the food pilot plant in regards to teaching, research, and processing activities. Additional duties include equipment maintenance, building and laboratory safety coordinator. For the last 14 years he has worked in the food industry as a production specialist in aseptic processing, quality assurance, formulation, conducting analysis on all phases of processing, and HACCP planning. Paul received a B.A. in Food Business Management and Animal Science from The Ohio State University.
Melody Leidheiser, Sensory Evaluation Coordinator. Her focus is to capture client needs and deliver results driven research solutions through innovative testing processes.She has over 15 years experience in Sensory Evaluation including Discrimination Testing, Consumer Testing, Quality Control Testing, and Descriptive Analysis. Melody is familiar to The Ohio State University where she earned her B.S. Recently, she completed an Applied Sensory Science and Consumer Testing Certification at the University of California, Davis.
Frank Danalewich, Outreach and Training Coordinator, has 40 years experience in the food and dairy industry in management, production, processing and quality assurance. Frank is responsible for teaching Food Safety, GMPs, Milk Processing and PMO Regulations at Ohio Prison Industries Beverage Processing Career Center, Pickaway Correctional Facility, Orient OH. He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Food Science degree, earned certifications in Food Packaging from the University of Wisconsin and Irradiation Preservation of Foods from Rutgers University.
